Tonight - Irish music and Viking ship replica at Cooper's Landing
6 pm-ish to 10-ish or so with artist-in-residence Conor Caldwell and local musicians
A Viking reenactor with an authentic shallow-keel viking longship will be docked at Cooper's Landing this evening. He'll be talking about the contruction and historical context of the ship and you can get a good look at this hand-built replica.
We'll be playing IRish music all evening Chim's Thai Kitchen and Cooper's barbeque will be open for dinner.
Should be a great evening! All musicians are invited to join in.
Cooper's Landing is a campground and store located on the Missouri River and Katy Trail south of columbia. They specialize in gorgeous sunsets. See the web site for directions:

Ceili this Friday (tomorrow) July 11
Join us for a fun evening of folk dancing, music and socializing. Music provided by our summer artist-in-residence Conor Caldwell and friends.
Where: First Christian Church, corner of Tenth and Walnut in Columbia. Park at the back of the building and enter through the back door (facing Ash St.)
7 pm -- Beginners' leson -- learn the basic social dance steps if you've never done this before, or if it's been awhile.
7:30 -- Demonstration dance by the Stoneking Irish Step Dance School students.
Dances start.
Music -- Conor Caldwell, our 2008 summer artist-in-residence and local musicians.
Caller -- Kat DiFoxfire
$5 admission for adults, free for ages 14 & under.
You are invited to bring a dessert treat; beverages are provided.

Lincoln University Share in the Arts series and Paddy Malone's Irish Pub have joined forces to present The Fuchsia Band in concert on Wednesday, August 6 at 7:30 p.m.
Concert venue:
Langston Hughes Theatre at Lincoln University
812 E. Dunklin St., Jefferson City
Showtime 7:30.
Tickets will be available only at Paddy Malone's Pub, 700 W. Main St. Jefferson City $15 general admission, $25 Premium Seating (rows 1 thru 3).

End of Summer Celebration - Save the date: Friday, Aug 8
We'll close out a fantastic Celtic Arts summer with a concert and ceili dance!
Friday, August 8, 7 p.m.
First Christian Church, 101 N. Tenth St (corner of Walnut and Tenth, park and enter throught he back door.)
Conor Caldwell and Brian Hart will perform a concert from 7 - 8 pm, followed by a ceili dance for everyone. Special guest appearances by members of our summer arts classes.
$8 adults, free for ages 14 & under
Silent auction to benefit our concert series!
We'll hold a silent auction of Celtic-themed knick-knacks, and hand made arts, crafts & etc.

Milwaukee Irish Fest -- August 14 - 17
This is the Superbowl of Irish music festivals --just check out their list of performers and you will see why.
