Irish music tonight at CSA
 
Local Irish musician Tom Schultz will be opening for St. Louis performer Jonathon Ramsey at Cherry Street Artisan tonight, beginning about 9 p.m.
 
Jonathon performs traditional Irish and Scottish ballads with a rock edge.

First Night Columbia, Dec 31
Great lineup for Celtic music fans!

First Night Columbia, the New Years Eve festival in downtown Columbia (family friendly, alcohol-free) will have some terrific performances for fans of Celtic music!

Admission buttons for First Night are now on sale. $8 for people age 8 and older.  But them at the ARC, Streetside Records and Gerbes Supermarkets until 4 pm on 12/31.  Buttons are $10 at the door of any venue.
Ceili dance with Bua, 7 - 9 pm in Kimball Ballroom, Stephens College 
Bua
 -- traditional band from Chicago who performed in Columbia in May will play a 2-hour set for this ceili dance.  Brian Hart, our 2007 artist-in-residence is the singer for this band, so you can bet there will be some songs between the dances!

Acoustic Guitar Bonanza!
 
Tony McManus, Scottish acoustic guitarist is one of the giants in this genre. He's the finest Celtic fingerstyle guitarist... period. (Not just in my opinion!)

Beppe Gambetta, Italian flatpicking guitarist will also be making a return to Columbia for First Night!
He and  Tony have played together over the last few years in an ensembled called "Men of Steel, Art of the Steel String Guitar" -- so you know you are in for a treat! www.beppegambetta.com
